We have come into this world only after spending 10 months in the womb of our mothers. Even in that there is an orderliness. It is mandatory that we need to spend 10 months in the womb of a mother. It is not that one child stays for 7, 6 or even 5 months in the womb. Likewise each and every lifeform in this earth has taken birth following its own process. Also no one is born as a big tall man straightaway.
The newborn is born with its tiny hands folded and then cries, opens its eyes and sees, grasps sounds, its given milk and then it kicks its hands and feet, smiles and then when someone comes in front of it, it lifts its hands and asks to be lifted. Slowly it falls on its stomach, lifts its head and starts to see, then tries with its hands to crawl first by its knees and then tries to stand up, then walks - this is how a child comes to this world by following a method. When the child starts to speak, we then send the child to a school and get him or her educated. Thus we see in this world everything is following a method and there is an orderliness in everything. In some families if after the marriage there is no child born then they have a great worry. Some go to the temple and pray to the bhagavan for getting a child. Some approach the astrologer and find what prayascittam to be done to beget a child. Some go to the place where mahans live and seek their blessings to beget children. Some approach the doctors and see if there is something wrong with them and find a way if they can from medical treatment. All of them are having a desire to have a child. The reason they desire is because the fondling of the child is itself a great happiness. As we see the child growing, we enjoy its stuttering walk and talk and listening to its sounds is an experience which one can find only by self experience. The child will mesmerize everyone in the house by its activities. Therefore the happiness that the father and mother derive out of this is something unimaginable. Such will be the child's influence. When the parents leave for work, the child will also cry to be taken with them. In all this there is some happiness. The householder enjoys these moments of happiness. So getting the child educated, put him into some work, get him or her married - all these become the duties of the householder.

I have seen myself when I go to many houses, in that house they would say that they are doing this pooja from their ancestors time over hundreds of years. They will have a worry, only if a group is formed then we can continue to do this pooja, so they will yearn for a child to continue. Others will have lots of wealth, they will have a worry. If they dont beget a child, all this wealth will go waste. So they would desire a child to use all this wealth. Some will be doing a family business from their ancestors and they would desire a child to continue their work. Some will do lots of charity and they would want that to continue with their child.
